Résumé :
Contemporary ceramics offer a wide range of materials. This diversity of choice makes it possible to address many clinical situations all the more easily as these materials have been perfectly integrated into CAD-CAM workflows. Indeed, their mechanical, optical, and biological properties allow them to meet requirements regardless of the location, the nature of the abutment, or type of restoration. Beyond the nature of the ceramic itself, its implementation in monolithic or layered restorations is also an important parameter for the practitioner to consider. This strategic selection relies on a careful analysis of the patient’s aesthetic and functional needs, as well as on the essential longevity of the prosthesis. Choosing a ceramic then becomes a true exercise. This conference explores the key factors involved and offers a practical approach to guide clinicians toward the optimal choice, based on the latest data from the scientific literature. Finally, this presentation will be enhanced by a research report on the use of these ceramics in the fabrication of posterior cantilever bridges.
